Reaching Out To Community and Kids

WHAT WE DO our mission

Our mission is to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous community by providing food relief, youth and family enrichment, and community events.

Family

We focus on family-friendly events and programs. We assist families with food, coat and blanket drives, and fun community events.

Youth

We focus on our youth. Many of our programs are for our youth including summer skills classes, art classes, and a youth hangout on the weekends.

Community

We bring our community together through annual holiday events and celebrations including Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.

Our Programs

Food Relief Programs

Our main programs include monthly food distributions serving approximately 130 food boxes each time, Thanksgiving and Christmas Turkey Distributions, School snacks for all pre-K and elementary students throughout the school year, and summer lunch for all children aged 0-18.

Youth Enrichment Services

YES ROCKs! Is in its 4th year of implementation. The program targets the community youth but has aspects the entire community enjoy.

YES ROCKs is composed of different youth enrichment programs including Youth Hangout on the weekends, Youth Skill Challenges in the Summer, and Youth, Adult, and Family Art programming throughout the year.

Holiday Events and Programs

We host many annual holiday events including the “Spooktacular” Halloween Carnival, the Christmas Community Celebration where Santa Comes to Town. and the Easter Egg Dash. We also have an annual Angel Tree to provide presents and clothing for our low-income youth, and a Golden Angel Program that delivers a hot turkey dinner and presents to our more isolated senior citiznes.

School Collaboration Programs

Collaborating with Dolores County Schools we provide free school supplies for all students pre-K through high school. We hold an annual school kick-off celebration every year to pass out items. We also collaborate with the schools for school snack and various other programs.

Community

ROCK is convinced that by building up programs that support our youth and families, we can help create a place that our community is proud to call home.

We do this through our programs, events, and food relief efforts, but honestly we are a strong organization because of our community.
